Elect Harry Mackin

MY VISION FOR JOSEPHINE COUNTY

We, as citizens of Josephine County, must make up our minds as to the level of service we expect from our County Government and then accept the responsibility to ensure those services are properly funded.

We must ensure that the safety of our citizens and their property always receives the highest priority.

We must actively pursue businesses that pay a family wage, and remove as many obstacles as possible to facilitate a move to our area.

We must raise County Government to a higher level of professionalism.  Hiring a well-trained, experienced manager or administrator would be a step in the right direction.

We must, once again, utilize our natural resources to provide income for our County.  Our forests need to be managed properly to provide jobs and income, without destroying the natural beauty of the area.

We must work to provide adequate fire protection for those areas of the County not currently served by public fire districts.  We live in a high risk area which has experienced significant fires in the past.  We need to be better prepared as we continue to build into these areas.

We must do whatever it takes to reopen our library.  Its embarrassing to live in a community that can’t find a way to keep its library open.

We must all work together for the good of the community.  We could take a lesson from the individuals and businesses who have pooled their time, talent, energy, and resources to accomplish great things such as The Family House, The Boys and Girls Club, Reinhart All Sports Park, Morrison Park, and the list goes on and on.  It may only begin with a dream or vision, but once the ball starts rolling, its time to pull together and get it done.
